He knows plenty about “having your head in the game” – as a member of the exclusive 20/20 club, he is one of only 11 players to have 20+ interceptions and 20+ sacks in NFL history, and the only player to record 20+ interceptions and 50+ sacks.
Sports Illustrated named Seth “NFL Player of the Year” in 1991. In a Monday Night game against the Houston Oilers he played with a 102-fever, recorded 10 solo tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 2 recovered fumbles, 2 sacks and an interception. His last game in the NFL was the zenith of his career, as a member of the Denver Broncos he won the “Super Bowl XXXIII” in 1999.
Today, Seth is the President and Co-Founder of the Joyner-Walker Foundation. The foundations mission it to help young people learn the importance of financial knowledge – through financial education and understanding the importance of money management. The Foundation future endeavors include, programs that boost self-esteem by teaching and mentoring young people in the areas of “Dressing for Success,” and implementing time management, interviewing and presentation skills.
Seth also runs the Joyner Coaching Football Academy where he teaches young people to “take their games to the next level.” But, what Seth offers young people doesn’t begin and end on the field. He wants to pass on the life lessons that he learned during his career. Not only the technical and fundamental skills of the game, but the proper mindset that will allow them to reach their greatest potential, both on and off the field.
